Chunky ombre

31dc2013 green ombre stripes 2

The tone of these stripes was so well-chosen.

Oh my, just look at that shimmer. GAW-geous! The shimmer catches the light beautifully, and just sparkles. The combination of sage, pink and gold is really interesting and it’s unlike anything in my stash.

There’s not much else to say about it so I’ll get right to the photos…I’ve taken them in various lighting to give you an idea of how this will look throughout the day and in artificial lighting at night.  I know not everyone is in love with green but I LOVE IT!

Hey, fever

New Grass is a pretty spring green with an appropriate name :)  It’s a thinner formula, but not runny–very good, actually!  This one applied relatively easily!  This shows three coats, but two would’ve been okay if you let it dry it between coats.  I’m super impatient and tried to get each coat on one after the other and then….I dragged my hair through it, hah!  I liked this color a lot more than I thought I would.

Today I’m going to be showing you all a Chanel Peridot dupe by Jessica called Iridescent Eye! Jessica is a brand I hadn’t heard of until recently and I was surprised to find is quite affordable.  You can pick up Iridescent Eye and many other Jessica polishes at Ninja Polish for $5.00 to $6.00!

Today I am showing you Pinkerbell by NailVenterous, a brand I’m sure most of you are familiar with because it has recently taken the nail polish community by storm with her AMAZING polishes (does the word Floam ring a bell?!)

Oh, Spiderman

Just Spotted the Lizard is a gold and green duochrome. I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again. I love an affordable dupe to an expensive polish. With that said, this is a dupe of Chanel Peridot. Very pretty and interesting color for any collection, and the formula was great too, three easy coats for full coverage.

Anne is a polish that was simply MADE to be on my nails. As soon as I saw this dark olive green beauty I knew it had to be mine. This polish is rather awesome. Not only is it a gorgeous murky olive tone, but it’s filled with antique gold and bright fuchsia pink shimmer! I have a few greens like this in my collection but none of them hold a candle to Anne!

Peacock-Inspired Marble

For this marble, I used my new blog design as inspiration. First, I picked out three colours that match the peacock feathers (China Glaze Grape Pop, Zoya Robyn and China Glaze Custom Kicks) and then I did my marble. But when I was done, I thought it was missing something. So, I added some white dots to tie in the white from my blog as well, and I think that really completed the look.

Color on Black

For this epic look I started with Two easy coats of Bettina Onyx. Then…. Then I went to town splattering in Bettina colors. I used some of their amazing Disco Collection glassflecks and ended up with amazing results. For the splatter I used Boogie, Peace and Hot Pants. I cannot get this look out of my head because I had never seen a splatter create an effect such as this before. This was NOT fun to clean up because the super fine shimmer from the Disco Colors wanted to get everywhere. I don’t even care though.. The clean-up was so worth it in the end!
