L’Hiver

Holiday Decorations Nail Art 3

To get this look: I started with a base of L’Hiver from Renaissance Custom Lacquer, and then painted the black lines with black polish. I filled in the shapes with white polish to provide a good base for the colours I would add on top. The ornaments I filled in with Renaissance Custom Lacquer Mount Pleasant, Spadina, St. Clair and Runnymede. The tiny stars were painted with Essie Good as Gold. I dabbed on a bit of Renaissance Custom Lacquer Evenstar to give it some glitz.

Snowy Country

Snowy country landscape nail art 5

So I took my design from last year as a starting point. But I wanted to paint a landscape that had more colour and more details. I wanted it to look even more like an impressionist painting. The finished landscape looks like your quintessential country landscape with the red/brown barn, sunset, and rustic fence. Yet, I really love how it turned out. Especially when compared to my design from last year, I see the improvement in my nail art skills.

I used a base of MASH – White, then I used the Barry M – Black Nail Art Pen for the wire, then I used Barry M – Bright Red, OPI – The It Colour, and OPI – Green-wich Village for the lights, and white acrylic paint for the reflections. All topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Ob 7f0f1d swirl nail art over cirque chainmail 3

I’ve done a simple swirl nail art over Cirque Chainmail when I was swatching it and though you might like to see it ;) Chainmail was initially sent to me for a review.

I’ve painted the swirl using white acrylic paint and a small brush from Tmart nailart brush set. At the end I’ve sealed the design with Seche Vite topcoat.

Interlocking dots cult nails tempest nevermore 4

For the white and black polishes I used Cult Nails Tempest and Nevermore. You will definitely be seeing a lot of Tempest and Nevermore this week! I can’t help but use them over and over again because they are both so opaque and have great formulas.

This was my first time trying this interlocking pattern!! It’s easy in concept, but I must admit I struggled a little with placement – especially the really important first step where the lines cross. It looks really nice from far away (far away meaning arm’s length, i.e. the usual distance my hand is from my eyeballs), but I feel like there are so many glaring flaws in these up close and personal macro photos :-/ Oh well, another excuse for me to practice using dots, huzzah!

Autumnfall

 Kbshimmer you autumn know 01

The glitter accents are two coats of KBShimmer You Autumn Know over one of Barry M White.

I create the waterfall nail art (tutorial here) over a base of Rimmel Sunset Bronze. I used a nail art brush to apply the stripes using Barry M Gold Foil, Rimmel Purple Reign, Essie Jag-U-Are, China Glaze Dandy Lyin’ Around and Sally Hansen Sun Kissed.

These nails are so unusual and creative!

Ob aa1fde multicolour aquarelle nails 3

I haven’t done any special nails yet for today so I have edited the watercolour nail art I’ve worn for the Olympia Beauty exhibition. I have used proper watercolours (aquarelle) colours, this is not the ‘nail polish & acetone’ technique.

Rainbow Waterfall

Day09RainbowNails 04

For Day 8’s nails I created a rainbow waterfall mani! It seems crazy that I got this far in to the challenge without doing a waterfall so while today is potentially the last day I will have the freedom to do one, it’s also an idea I’ve been holding on to for a while so it feels good to get it out and on to my nails! I used 20 different shades of nail polish in this nail art. Most of the time spent on this mani was just screwing and unscrewing the bottles!
