Color Club Fly With Me 2

Fly With Me- is an awesome lime green! Ahh love, I’m a big fan of all things green and I love this yellow toned lime! The formula on this one was a little bit sheer but very nice, I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Ombre Gradient Nails

GradientNails01

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes in Sun Kissed and Green With Envy. I applied them following this tutorial. I sponged the colours on twice today which has given better results than last time – I think the graduation is more subtle and there’s less evidence that I even used a sponge because you can’t see so many sponge marks like last time!

Zoya2

Today I have on Zoya Gemma.  I have yet to try a Zoya polish I didn’t like.  I love the purple sheen this has to it, it’s very subtle but so pretty.

Gradient Zoya Wednesday Zuza and china glaze optical illusion 1

I’ve used two coats of Wednesday as a base and then did gradient tips with Zuza. That was not contrasting enough so I added gradient China Glaze Optical Illusion.

20130924 vivid lacquer welcome to rapture

Welcome to Rapture is a densely packed topcoat full of fine glitters in every color. I layered one, thin coat over Zoya Hunter. Welcome to Rapture can be worn alone too. In 3-4 coats you’ll have a solid glitter bomb.

Strippy McStrip Stripe Na...

792

This is my first time trying striping tape! I decided to get one from Born Pretty Store to see if we would get along and I’m pleased to report we’ve become good friends. I’ve purchased a set of ten rolls from eBay here for an absolute bargain of 99p so prepare for more stripy nails in the future.

20131228 vivid lacquer the sea after the storm

Vivid Lacquer The Sea After the Storm (my absolute fave!) is a described as a “darkened teal scatter holo filled with gold flakes.” I seriously couldn’t do any better describing it than that! The flakes are very subtle and the overall effect is a really rich green shade. My swatch is one thin coat and one generous coat.

 PiCture pOlish Mallard 1

piCture pOlish Mallard is pretty much the epitome of everything I love in terms of nail polish all put it one bottle.  If you’ve read my blog before I don’t think it’s any secret that I love green polish. When I was brainstorming about what I wanted green was my jumping off point. One of my other favorite things in polish is a strong shimmer, I love the depth a good shimmer can give an already beautiful color. Last but not least you all know I love me some flakies so we couldn’t not include those…right?

I’m really lucky to have grown up down the street from my Grandparents, I pretty much spent every moment of my summers with them until I was in High School. One of the things we always used to do was visit the local park with loaves of bread and feed all the ducks, I always loved it! While I was thinking about that it hit me…the shade of green along with the shimmer reminds me of the green iridescent like feathers that Mallard ducks have on their head! I think the name is pretty fitting!

Poisonous Dots Nail Art

Poisonous Dots 3

I dotted on various size dots in Barry M Acid Yellow and China Glaze Pink Voltage, but didn’t seal with a top coat, so the dotty texture would remain. I love it! Most fun nails I’ve worn in ages!

Jewel gem nail art tutorial the ring and the crown 2

I used: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Misa Blue Jade Vine, Misa Loveliest of Lilacs, CoverGirl Wine to Five, Sally Hansen Going Green

TIP: If you are having trouble with this design, try using acrylic paint instead of nail polish! It is easier to handle and doesn’t dry out as quickly. Just be sure to put down a coat of nail polish first and finish the design with topcoat.

Dragon1

Today is A England Dragon. A gorgeous green with a scattered holo effect. Applies beautifully, and is really opaque in one coat but I used two just to play it safe!
