Nifty Fifties

Nifty Fifties Pattern Nail Art 1

To get this look: I used OPI My Vampire is Buff, OPI My Paprika is Hotter than Yours!, and China Glaze Sea Spray. I also used Cult Nails Tempest and Fetish. Everything was done freehand, and for the blocks of colour, I painted them with Tempest to begin with, then went over them with the colour.

Overall: I really love how spunky and fun this is! It’s not too often I use orange, but I love the colour combination with the blue-orange complements, and the nice buff nude to balance. I’m also really happy with my line work on this one.

Candy Striped

 Candystriped5

I started off with two coats of, from thumb to pinky, Zoya Shelby, Pop Nail Glam Tangerine Taste, Essie First Timer, China Glaze For Audrey, and Lime Crime Lavendairy

The topper shades are, from thumb to pinky, Lime Crime Parfait Day, Lime Crime Peaches ♥ Cream, Essie Navigate Her, Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse, and Essie Nice is Nice.

Mango

20131213 sbl 3rd degree

Super Black Lacquers 3rd Degree is a rich, blood-orange with a golden shimmer and an almost metallic finish. Application was amazing with this polish. Does that ever happen to you? Where you use a polish and you think “Wow. This is dreamy.” LOL. Well that happened with this one.

Circus tent

20131109 nuber wild west collection 1

I decided to go big or go home, so I combined all eight shades into this mani. I did a similar look here, but used striping tape. This time I got brave and freehanded the stripes with a striping brush. I started with a base of Spirit Walker, a pinkish off-white with a touch of shimmer. Then I randomly added funky stripes to create this Wild West themed mani. The colors in the collection are (L to R in the pic above): Take off the Mask, Hi-Ho Silver, Paint Pony, Spirit Walker, Brothel, Texas Sky, Cactus, and Go Native.  I finished with two coats of Nubar Diamond Seal & Shine topcoat to make it smooth and shiny.

Fendi-inspired

Fendi 4

Ombré hair just recently had it’s moment (I just can’t seem to part with my ombréd dark blue locks), but has ombréd nails? I think not. This Fendi-inspired Ladyfinger is definitely a challenge, but the end result is totally worth it.

Rocks and Minerals

Liquidus nail gloss fall 2013 skittle arsenic copper blue diamond turquoise 005

Overall, I really liked these.  I love the idea of a collection where each polish has a different finish AND they all complement each other.  Application was easy, regardless of how the teal photographed, and I would definitely want more Liquidus in my life.

v Distressing

Distressed halloween gradient nail art 1

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (what I would do without that polish, I have no idea) then I sponged a gradient over the top using Barry M Mango (which is a fantastic Halloween orange) and Illamasqua Poke. Over the top of that, I used Barry M Black to create the distressed look, which just involves wiping most of the polish off the brush on the bottle neck, then using the mostly dry brush to swipe on the polish.

Today’s mani is all about the colour peach! I used three coats of Barry M – Peach Melba on most nails and Catrice – I Scream Peach! for some accent nails. The circles are from Konad plate m65 and I stamped with Konad Special Nail Polish in White.
