Mai Tai is GORGEOUS! Super sexy red jelly with red hex, holo and silver shimmer. 3 coats here, though a careful 2 coat would suffice.

Santa belt

Today’s nail art was inspired by Santa’s belt. I started with a base of two coats of China Glaze With Love. I carefully painted a horizontal stripe of black across each nail and then used Milani Signature Gold to paint the buckle.

OPI Brazil Textures Rainbow Nail Art Nailart009

OK, you all know I love texture polishes so these shades included in the OPI Brazil collection were a treat. The only problem? They are minis :( I wanted to show off each shade while creating a fun nail design…take a look!

Blood red

A dead on dupe of Deborah Lippmann’s Ruby Red Slippers (Wet n Wild Behind Closed Doors is also a dupe). I don’t normally go for such dark polishes, so I definitely wouldn’t spend $18 on it, but for $2.99 I’m in. :)

My favorite red… it’s kind of hard finding a favorite red, don’t you think? I love glitter, but most red glitters look similar. But I had known when I had first seen this beauty on the MUA NB years ago that it had to be mine and I would love it. And I do!

Polished by Alexandra Mistletoe Kisses 1

Polished by Alexandra Mistletoe Kisses is the second duochrome in the collection – a garnet red that shifts to a coppery gold.  This is vibrant, pigmented and glowy!  This is two easy coats.

I am loving this set, and I am happy to report that this collection is every bit as quality as Polished by Alexandra’s last set!  The crelly glitters are just fantastic…everyone needs polishes like that in their collections for this time of year!  The Holiday Traditions Collection is set to release TOMORROW!  You can purchase Polished by Alexandra polishes for $8.75 each or the entire set for $41!  Alexandra also makes soaps and handmade body products, so be sure to check those out when you visit her esty shop!  Also, follow on [email protected] and on [email protected]!

Kissy3

Zoya Kissy has a reddish-pink tinted base with lots of bright pink/red shimmer and pink and holo tinsel/bar glitter pieces. It went on well and I didn’t have to pick at the bar glitters TOO much afterwards. It is pretty top coat hungry so I ended up using one coat of Gelous and two coats of Poshe.

Royallacquerrazzberryberet2

Royal Lacquer Razz Berry Beret is a raspberry jelly loaded with multi-sized red holographic & metallic hexes and squares.  The formula was a bit on the thick side for a jelly.  I did have to use a bit of finesse with it for a smooth surface.  The is such a fun shade to wear! Shown is two coats of Razz Berry Beret.

Jewel gem nail art tutorial the ring and the crown 2

I used: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Misa Blue Jade Vine, Misa Loveliest of Lilacs, CoverGirl Wine to Five, Sally Hansen Going Green

TIP: If you are having trouble with this design, try using acrylic paint instead of nail polish! It is easier to handle and doesn’t dry out as quickly. Just be sure to put down a coat of nail polish first and finish the design with topcoat.

Starlet

Quench2

Quench is a medium blue-based red crelly (crème/jelly hybrid) with a smooth formula and easy application – no issues to report. Opaque in three coats, but if your nails are shorter or you don’t mind visible nail line, 2 would be plenty.  I can see why she named it Quench – it’s positively JUICY! Dries quickly to a super shiny finish even without top coat.

LAQA Co Greedy Guts Color of the Month Club006

LAQA & Co. Greedy Guts. Now let’s talk about the polish. A gorgeous candy apple red crelly that had hints of magenta as well. Absolutely perfect formula. Opaque in 2 coats, self leveling, super shine, goes exactly where you want it to. No top coat here.

The brush handle on these is on the long side, and took some getting used to, but the formula more than made up for that. In fact, I needed almost zero cleanup because the polish was so easy to work with. I can’t vouch for any of the other shades but if they are at all like this one, this monthly box would be an awesome arrival each month.
