Color Club Sparkle and Soar 2

Sparkle and Soar is a beautiful golden orange! I love love love this one, for some reason I always grab for orange polishes like this during the summer. Usually I gravitate towards a couple of Zoya polishes but this might take their place! The formula was nice, a little sheer though. I used 3 coats for the photos.

good as Chocolate

Mir1

Dandy Nails Make It Realis chock full of gold microglitter and medium gold hexagon glitter pieces, all in a purple shimmer suspension base. It’s opaque in two to three coats or can be layered over a purple-based “underwear.”

It’s one of those violet purple colors that is so hard for me to capture, so I’m showing you what it looks like in natural light and indoors in artificial light. You won’t have any trouble telling the difference. LOL! First, natural light…I was already wearing the new Zoya Carly, so I used that as my “underwear” but it really doesn’t need anything under it.

Nanacoco City of Emeralds is a cool toned lime green foil. I absolutely love this color! Shown above is two easy coats. I think this was my favorite of the bunch, but it was the hardest to photograph.

Roasted

If you’ve been on the Bootie Babe storefront lately, you might have noticed some familiar looking nails! I spent several weeks swatching their entire polish line, which is around fifty shades. Fifty shades of Bootie Babe … now there’s your book title! Badum tss.

Anyway, I thought I’d show you my absolute favorite polishes!!

Bootie Babe Rump Roast is a deep brown with a vibrant purple shimmer.  The formula was rich and easy to apply.  I really love this one!  The purple shimmer really makes this shade stand out! Shown is two coats of Rump Roast.

Liquid Crystal Tips

DiamondCosmeticsCrushedVelvetChinaGlazeLiquidCrystal

I want to declare my love to Crushed Velvet from Diamond Cosmetics. It’s my fav dark purple creme, so smooth and dreamy… I love it to pieces! And with China Glaze – Liquid Crystal sponged on the tips I love it even more.

Ho Ho Ho

Santa belt

Today’s nail art was inspired by Santa’s belt. I started with a base of two coats of China Glaze With Love. I carefully painted a horizontal stripe of black across each nail and then used Milani Signature Gold to paint the buckle.

About the collection: All three colours are inspired by the gorgeous, sophisticated women entering the 2013 MISS UNIVERSE® competition, held November 9, 2013. “The colors are very glamorous – ideal for special occasions, a night on the town, or even being named the most beautiful woman in the world!”

OPI Miss You-niverse deep plum purple creme. Another gorgeous purple that I enjoyed wearing. The shade is rather blue-based and very dark, perfect for the winter season. It is well-pigmented and all I needed were two regular coats. I didn’t have any problems with application or drying and I’m wearing a topcoat as well.

Challenge Bugs 1

I painted my base with 17 Peacock and added a dragonfly with acrylic paints. To make it a bit prettier I put some rhine-stones on the body and painted the wings with opalescent glitter.

Glittery Gradient Nails

Apply a second coat of the glitter nail polish, this time starting halfway down the nail (roughly somewhere in between where the glitter color and the opaque color started) and going all the way to the tip. This will blend the glitter and the silver tips and help create a gradient effect.

HoliGlaze

China Glaze Put a Bow On It is made up of fuchsia microglitter. This is two thick coats and if you look closely, you can still see some bare spots near the tips of my nails. I would recommend either layering this over a similar base color or doing three careful coats.

If you love grey and glitter, this is THE polish for you! This is two coats of Elemental Styles E=mc^2 with one coat of top coat! Whitney’s creations are inspired by her love for Chemistry and polish! Application was spot on and NO digging for glitter, which I love! It reminds me of cookies n cream–if only polish was edible!!
