Fish Egg Friday

Fish Egg Friday

Because I already did a mixed manicure I decided to go with just one color and it looks like I made an Ombre Fish Egg Mani. I actually didn’t even remove my last Leopard mani, so I just applied a fresh coat of matching base color and sprinkle the beads on. I didn’t add any top coat because I remove it right after I took pictures. You can see a list of polish I used under the pictures… I know it’s not perfect, because it was made in just couple of minutes but you get the idea.

Under the sea

Sea Creature is a mix of dark emerald micro glitter and medium blue holo hex glitters with a sprinkling of small violet glitter. I’ve seen a few random pieces of medium silver holo hexes as well in there, but they’re kinda rare. This is all in a clear base, but it covers almost completely in two coats on its own, or in one coat over a base color (shown here over Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal).

20140119 ilnp sirene

This is I Love Nail Polish Sirène. This teal-y chrome shifts to blue, violet and red. It’s even more amazing in person! My swatch is three coats.

Fairy princess

Chanel Lilac Sky is a cool-toned pinkish lilac with tons of silver shimmer. Pastels are so often warm-toned that they really don’t work on me at all, but this one, with the cool blue undertones actually makes it quite wearable for me. Application was actually better and less sheer than I expected. Two coats for opacity and no formula issues to mention. Even though it’s a bit frosty, it doesn’t really show brush strokes, but if you’ll be taking close-up photos, just make sure to do straight and even strokes. I noticed nothing until I saw my photos and there are a few very faint brush stroke marks that you couldn’t really see at arms length.

It is a little deeper and little dustier than Mermaids Tears – which makes it more finger-wearable for me. I know I should probably get rid of one of these, but I really can’t bear that right now! I just love this colour – it’s very soothing. And I need some of that in my life.

So Cool

 20140108 misa icy river

I have the Misa Winter 2013/2014 Collection to show you today. The “We’re cool. So cool. This is how cool.” Collection consists of three wintery blue-based shades…perfect for the season! As I’ve come to expect, the Misa formula was flawless. And these colors are so pigmented and rich.

This is Misa Icy River. It’s a dense blue-leaning purple. The formula was stellar. My swatch is two easy coats.

Like rabbits

20131218 glitter bunny little pink dress1

Glitter Bunny Little Pink Dress is unique. The base is a medium pink jelly containing golden orange flakies. It sounds crazy, but the effect is cool. My swatch is two coats. I used two coats of topcoat.

Pink Gumballs

Candy shop 023

I used three coats of Candy Shop for the picture above, and seriously HOW FUN IS THIS?! I love the variety of glitter in the bubblegum pink jelly base, it’s just too cute. The formula was a bit thick, but not too problematic. Best part you ask? It’s super affordable!

Brazilian Rainbows!

OPI Brazil Textures Rainbow Nail Art Nailart009

OK, you all know I love texture polishes so these shades included in the OPI Brazil collection were a treat. The only problem? They are minis :( I wanted to show off each shade while creating a fun nail design…take a look!

Blue nail polish

a-england, per usual, knocks it out of the park with Order Of The Garter.  It took 3 coats for a solid finish, but I don’t mind being that extra-layer-patient with something so beautiful — just look at that sparkle!

Deep Ocean Nails

China Glaze Towel Boy Toy

The base, which you can make out near the nail bed, is China Glaze For Audrey, which I’ll really need to use sometime all on its own because it’s just darling.  Then went in with a couple of makeup sponge rounds using China Glaze Towel Boy Toy
