Planner

Erin Condren Planner Inspired Nail Art 1

To get this look: I decided to stay true to the design of the planner and the colours used. Since the background is not black, but more of a slate grey. I started with a base of one coat of Cult Nails Fetish, and one coat of Essie Cashmere Bathrobe (I don’t own a dark slate grey, otherwise I would have used that).

The next step was to paint where my design would go, and block it out using Cult Nails Tempest (an opaque white). This would allow for the colours to show up more.

I then painted in the design with my colour: Nubar My New Obsession (blue), Sally Hansen Lightening (yellow), Nubar On The Radar (red), Models Own Soda Pop Pink, OPI My Vampire is Buff, Misa Lime Love, and for the brown/nude a mix of Models Own Nude Beige and Essie Cashmere Bathrobe.

Nifty Fifties

To get this look: I used OPI My Vampire is Buff, OPI My Paprika is Hotter than Yours!, and China Glaze Sea Spray. I also used Cult Nails Tempest and Fetish. Everything was done freehand, and for the blocks of colour, I painted them with Tempest to begin with, then went over them with the colour.

Overall: I really love how spunky and fun this is! It’s not too often I use orange, but I love the colour combination with the blue-orange complements, and the nice buff nude to balance. I’m also really happy with my line work on this one.

Alright, so my lines totally suck. I admit it! I have never really used a striper brush for nail art, and I had basically no control over it while I painted this manicure. But I think it’s a good first attempt, and now I can look back and laugh at this post once I finally master the waterfall nail art! I used a base of Essie Sand Tropez and striped with the following colors, from darkest to lightest: ORLY Bus Stop Crimson, China Glaze Long Kiss, OPI All I Want For Christmas Is OPI, OPI Schnapps Out Of It!, and Nubar Gold Frost nail art pen.

I decided to go big or go home, so I combined all eight shades into this mani. I did a similar look here, but used striping tape. This time I got brave and freehanded the stripes with a striping brush. I started with a base of Spirit Walker, a pinkish off-white with a touch of shimmer. Then I randomly added funky stripes to create this Wild West themed mani. The colors in the collection are (L to R in the pic above): Take off the Mask, Hi-Ho Silver, Paint Pony, Spirit Walker, Brothel, Texas Sky, Cactus, and Go Native.  I finished with two coats of Nubar Diamond Seal & Shine topcoat to make it smooth and shiny.

Ultra French

I haven’t done a French manicure in a while, so I figured I’d go with a colorful one! I used OPI Glints of Glinda as my base and used acrylic paints for the rainbow. I used striping tape to keep the manicure edge straight and a small detail brush for the lines.
