Insta dri top coat

Everyone has their favorite quick-dry top coat, and for many it is Seche Vite, but my fave is Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri. Glossy, protective and very fast drying, it couldn’t be simpler: buy it.

Smooth sailing

Gelous is fantastic for strengthening your nails and also for smoothing over bumpy polishes.

Nail-Venturous Floam is an amazing polish! It’s made up of a super dense concentration of green and blue glitter, with a clear suspension base. It was actually a bit too thick on my first coat so I added a few drops of thinner and the application was a breeze after that. I used 3 coats for full coverage, although most people would be fine with 2 coats. As will all glitters, removal is a pain in the ass. And expect to find stray blue and green glitter EVERYWHERE for the next few days.

Flux Capacitor

I love this blog – she mixes up new, creative polishes – so fun! I’ve got a few spotlights on her coming up, so hold on to your hat :)

I used NYC Clear, Pure Ice Electric, and fine purple glitter from INM. I poured about half each of clear and Electric into an empty bottle, and added about one tablespoon of INM glitter.

Bar, hex and square glitters in lots of fun colors including turquoise, lavender, chartreuse and purple in a clear base.

Under the sea

Sea Creature is a mix of dark emerald micro glitter and medium blue holo hex glitters with a sprinkling of small violet glitter. I’ve seen a few random pieces of medium silver holo hexes as well in there, but they’re kinda rare. This is all in a clear base, but it covers almost completely in two coats on its own, or in one coat over a base color (shown here over Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal).

Irish Disco Nails

Irish Disco Nails

I would never have the patience for this!

Welp, finally done did it.  Full on rhinestones, no mucking about.  Maya sent in a request a few weeks ago for a tutorial on how to do the full-cover bling nails, so I went for it with the first round of colors from a new wheel (for the record, it took about 2/3 of one of those wheel pockets to cover); turns out the colors were very Irish!  You’ll also note that one of the yellows snuck into the bed of gold stones, so that’s a fun little accident that hopefully only I notice in real life. These are actually pretty easy, aside from being time consuming.  I used clear polish for this, but you can use any color that will work for you; if you’re not packing them really tightly together just pull something that’s a little matchy (or not!) with your stone color.
