20140125 kbshimmer pigment of my imagination

So what’s a better way to get through a Monday than with some beautiful indies! I’ve had several of the KBShimmer Winter Collection polishes in my possession for awhile…just waiting their turn. It’s no secret that I love KBShimmer…especially the latest holos and duochromes!! My lighting setup doesn’t do multi-chromes and holos justice…so I’m going to show a KBShimmer bottle shot with each of my swatches so you can experience the awesomeness! All swatches were photographed in naturel light and finished with KBShimmer Clearly on Top topcoat.

KBShimmer Pigment of My Imagination is a beautiful medium purple and blue multi-chrome that shifts to red and gold.  This polish is like a chameleon. It looked completely blue in some light and completely purple in others. Then out would come these crazy shifts. My swatch doesn’t catpure the gold well (maybe a little on the the thumb)…but it’s definitely there. Formula was great. I used two coats.

Natural

Zoya normani

Hi guys today I have the Zoya Natural Collection to share with you all. I didn’t think I’d like this collection at first because it looked pretty boring but I ended up really liking the whole collection!

For some reason I had a hard time coming up with accurate color descriptions for these shades so I will be using Zoya’s color descriptions!

Zoya Normani, 2 coats A sauble mauve cream. So pretty although I think I may have a color or two that is very similar to this one!

Love Actually

Smitten polish you saucy minx barry m indigo glossy 002

I personally experienced VNL with both these polishes.  Now this could be because the whites of my nails are quite white, or it could be because the bottle is new, and will thicken up and therefore become more opaque in time …. Anyway – that’s why for the first polish, you’ve got it with and without top coat and with and without undies.  Ready?

Smitten Polish You Saucy Minx – on a base of Barry M Indigo, with top coat

Gold

Red with gold flake tips 2 watermark

This is piCture pOlish Vampire with Julep Gianna applied on the tips. This manicure was SO simple, but amazingly well received! I had people commenting on it left and right. Someone even told me she was getting married on Christmas Day and wanted to recreate this look for her wedding, which is just about the best compliment ever, I think.

This is two coats of Vampire and I just dabbed/placed the gold with the brush from the bottle. A generous coat of topcoat helped smooth out everything.

Collaboration

PiCture pOlish bewitch 1

piCture pOlish Bewitch is a purple/brown back with a strong golden shimmer and a sprinkle of holo. This is a collaboration with Aire of The Obsessed, you can read her post about Bewitch here. I really like this one, it’s complex. It builds up to looking brown but it starts out looking purple…it was a surprise on the nail which was fun! The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

20131113 glam polish tempestarii swatch2

My swatches today are from the upcoming Cast a Spell Collection, which will be available for pre-order in Australia on 21 November and available internationally later in the month. All swatches are two coats of polish and one coat of G&G HK Girl Topcoat. These are amazing, so let’s get started…

I’ll begin with my favorite. Glam Polish Tempestarii is a deep purple scattered holo. It’s gorgeous and the formula was so easy to control.

Glinda

20111112 essie toggle to the top

Essie Toggle to the Top is a rich, garnet red sparkler. The base is a deeper red jelly than Essie Leading Lady, but the glitter load is similar. It went on a little splotchy with the first coat, but evened out with three thin coats. It does dry gritty, so I used two generous topcoats for my swatch. It’s a stunner! I can picture it especially on short, neatly manicured nails.

Grassy disco

Cirque Lichen 3

Lichen is an olive green that has a golden flash to it out in the sun and a touch of a grassy green duochrome in lower lighting. This is another favorite for me, I love my greens after all! The formula was great and super opaque! I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Aqua

7 PA010695

Liquidus Blue Diamond Turquoise is a deep glossy teal.  So beautiful!  As a true jelly polish, you’ll want to apply thin coats and be patient while each coat dries so you can build up to a rich color.  Here, I’ve used three thin coats, but you could do two if you’d like, but you’ll have more visible nail line.  I used Out the Door top coat with this swatch.  In real life, the visible nail line isn’t nearly as noticeable as it is in the photos under the bright lights!

Cosmos picture polish

Cosmos, 2 coats (Accent nail is LVX Azzurrum)
Cosmos is a an opauqe navy blue jelly with tons of holo particles and flake like pieces. The holo is scattered and looks suspended in the shiny, jelly base. It is a beautiful collaboration shade created with Camille of Pshiiit.com. The great thing about Cosmos (other than it’s beauty) is that because it is a holographic polish (no glitter!) it’s suuuuper easy to remove. It’s honestly even prettier in the sunlight when the pure rainbow goodness is clearly visible.

I so much love showing you these older China Glaze polishes. I already posted about the Rodeo Diva Collection which is for me one of the best collections ever made. A year later, in 2009, the fall collection was also very very pretty. So today I bring you swatches of Retro Diva.
