Warm brown flakie

Barielle Elle s Spell 2

This beauty is Barielle Elle’s Spell. A red flakie that shifts to gold and then blue/green. The flakies are suspended in a burgundy jelly base. Since the base is sheer, I decided to layer the polish over black. It is kind of a prerequisite for me to test a flakie over black since in my opinion that is when it shines.

Cult nails seduction 5

I have the last polish in the Cult Nails Divas and Drama Collection for you today, Seduction. This polish is a simply gorgeous purple/red jelly base absolutely filled with red, blue and pink iridescent flakies.

Girly and Gilded

Girly mix and match nail art 1

A few weeks ago, my sister Kelsey stopped by to get her nails done. You may remember her (and her nails!) from the last time we did a nail photoshoot featuring leopard print and a faux fur lined jacket. We were talking about manicure ideas and decided to do a girly mix and match featuring pinks, golds, and black. I did some sketching while we hammered out the details, and once the manicure was done, we did a mini photo shoot!

20131218 glitter bunny little pink dress1

Glitter Bunny Little Pink Dress is unique. The base is a medium pink jelly containing golden orange flakies. It sounds crazy, but the effect is cool. My swatch is two coats. I used two coats of topcoat.

 PiCture pOlish Mallard 1

piCture pOlish Mallard is pretty much the epitome of everything I love in terms of nail polish all put it one bottle.  If you’ve read my blog before I don’t think it’s any secret that I love green polish. When I was brainstorming about what I wanted green was my jumping off point. One of my other favorite things in polish is a strong shimmer, I love the depth a good shimmer can give an already beautiful color. Last but not least you all know I love me some flakies so we couldn’t not include those…right?

I’m really lucky to have grown up down the street from my Grandparents, I pretty much spent every moment of my summers with them until I was in High School. One of the things we always used to do was visit the local park with loaves of bread and feed all the ducks, I always loved it! While I was thinking about that it hit me…the shade of green along with the shimmer reminds me of the green iridescent like feathers that Mallard ducks have on their head! I think the name is pretty fitting!

Opals

 Darling Diva Rose Opal 5

The Opal Collection is made up of 7 new shades of jelly flakies that can be layered or worn alone. In order to suspend the flakes and iridescent glitters and holo shimmer goodness, they are a bit thicker than a regular topper, which is why they build to opacity in 2 to 3 coats (most in 2 coats) and I would recommend layering the lighter shades (Opal and Blue Opal). I had no issues with formula or application on any of them! You will need to excuse my ravaged cuticles though. When “winter weather” actually makes it to South Texas my cuticles are the first thing to revolt.

Darling Diva Polish Rose Opal. This one is a bright violet pink and I’ve worn it alone with 2 coats for opacity and one coat of top coat.

Shocking

 PiCture pOlish ManiMonday Shocked 5

Today I have a blogger collaboration piCture pOlish color to share with you – Shocked, created with Claire of Shatter Me Claire. Shocked is a gorgeous pink jelly polish with holographic shards in it. I have to confess, the little irregularly shaped holo shards is my very favorite PP finish – I am obsessed with it!! I want ALL of them! Take a peek at how beautiful this polish is and the nail art I did inspired by Claire’s blog name below.

Glam

 Glam polish divinity

I was up north for New York Fashion Week (for those of you that don’t know)! But this review of the new Supernatural Collection from Glam Polish should’ve been posted this morning so enough talking let’s get to the gorgeous polishes!

Gold

Red with gold flake tips 2 watermark

This is piCture pOlish Vampire with Julep Gianna applied on the tips. This manicure was SO simple, but amazingly well received! I had people commenting on it left and right. Someone even told me she was getting married on Christmas Day and wanted to recreate this look for her wedding, which is just about the best compliment ever, I think.

This is two coats of Vampire and I just dabbed/placed the gold with the brush from the bottle. A generous coat of topcoat helped smooth out everything.

Sweet Color W015 is a tinted grey clear coat loaded with shifting flakes.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, but you will need to apply a base color for an opaque finish. Shown is one coat of W015 over China Glaze Queen B.
