Silver Smoke is a cool gold metallic with bronze and silver microshimmer through it. Unfortunately the shimmer doesn’t translate too well on the nail so it’s very subtle but it’s just beautiful! 3 coats is pictured.

OPI Into The Night 2

Into The Night is a bright shimmery blue. The shimmer in this is a tiny bit frosty but not in a bad way. I really like this one, it practically glows! It’s like a much brighter version of OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue. The formula was okay, not my favorite. It was sheer but it builds up nicely, I used 3 coats for the photos below. I would recommend wrapping the tips of your nails with this one, you can tell if you don’t. For those that have no idea what that means you just run the brush along the tip of your nail!

Nanacoco City of Emeralds is a cool toned lime green foil. I absolutely love this color! Shown above is two easy coats. I think this was my favorite of the bunch, but it was the hardest to photograph.

Challenge Bugs 1

I painted my base with 17 Peacock and added a dragonfly with acrylic paints. To make it a bit prettier I put some rhine-stones on the body and painted the wings with opalescent glitter.

Butter London Lillibet s Jubilee 1

Today I have a gorgeous new Butter London polish to show you called Lillibet’s Jubilee! It’s a beautiful silvery lilac foil! According to Butter London’s website This commemorative color honors the international celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne. I have a lot of silvery foils but nothing quite like this beauty, I was worried that once I got out in the sun you wouldn’t be able to pick up the lilac in the formula but that turned out not to be the case at all!

Polished by Alexandra Mistletoe Kisses 1

Polished by Alexandra Mistletoe Kisses is the second duochrome in the collection – a garnet red that shifts to a coppery gold.  This is vibrant, pigmented and glowy!  This is two easy coats.

I am loving this set, and I am happy to report that this collection is every bit as quality as Polished by Alexandra’s last set!  The crelly glitters are just fantastic…everyone needs polishes like that in their collections for this time of year!  The Holiday Traditions Collection is set to release TOMORROW!  You can purchase Polished by Alexandra polishes for $8.75 each or the entire set for $41!  Alexandra also makes soaps and handmade body products, so be sure to check those out when you visit her esty shop!  Also, follow on Twitter @PolishedbyAlex and on Instagram @PolishedbyAlexandra!

Opera

20131201 jessica opening night

So I tried my first JESSICA polish for a Nail Art Society look and was super impressed. And today I have swatches of my first complete JESSICA Cosmetics Collection. In this post, I have their Fall release, A Night at the Opera.

JESSICA Cosmetics Opening Night is a purple-leaning fuchsia shimmer that almost glows. It’s bright and deep at the same time. The formula was really good. My swatch is two coats.

OPI Embarca Dare Ya! is a magenta with a hot pink shimmer. Shown above is two coats, and just like the other two, it applied easily and flawlessly. This is a great Autumn pink!

Glam-plated

This polish applied extremely easily, especially for a foil! I used two coats out of habit, not out of necessity, as it’s perfectly opaque and streak-free in one coat. Very smooth formula. I like that it’s not a straight silver metallic foil but has a lavender tint that makes it somewhat unique in a sea of metallics. That’s pretty difficult to do these days.

53rd element

Iodine-ing Out is a different color, I think! I like yellow a lot, so it’s also one of the polishes I like most in this collection. This polish is a shimmer with yellow undertones and like Easy Bro-Mine! has a slightly metallic appearance over black (polish in pictures above is over black). In my chemistry labs, iodine, the 53rd element, that we dealt with was in solution and was yellow, which helped me in naming this polish!

Charla3

This is Zoya Charla, and she is outstanding!  Magical!  This is sort of similar to Color Club Metamorphosis, but they are definitely not dupes of each other.  Charla has large glass flecks and a duochrome in the base that flashes green (not blue/purple like in Metamorphosis).  I love blue and teal polishes, so I am very happy to have both of these beauties! =)
