Amazingly gorgeous

I went with a base of OPI Miss You-Niverse, which is a gorgeous dark eggplant creme that I reviewed here. Then, I took Essie Good As Gold and with just a tiny bit of polish on the brush, swiped it upwards from the tip of my nails. Doing this also left little flecks on the rest of the nail, which are barely visible in the photos but had a nice effect in the light.

Dazzle Holiday

China Glaze Dash of Dazzle Nail Art 2

For a fun, festive look, I decided to do a simple skittlette. I used all three polishes from the China Glaze Dash of Dazzle set, plus OPI My Vampire is Buff, and a plain black polish. I love how easy it was to do, and it’s such a great look for a holiday party!

On my middle and ring nails, I started with a base of OPI This Gown Needs A Crown, and on my outer nails I used the textured OPI It’s Frosty Outside. Then, I taped off my nails and painted with Essie Licorice.

Lights

I used a base of MASH – White, then I used the Barry M – Black Nail Art Pen for the wire, then I used Barry M – Bright Red, OPI – The It Colour, and OPI – Green-wich Village for the lights, and white acrylic paint for the reflections. All topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.

of good Cheer

A england red and black gradient 2 watermark

The gradient itself was super easy: I just started with a base of a-england Rose Bower and sponged on a-england Bridal Veil (both amazing polishes, by the way) with a makeup wedge. Holographic polishes are a great choice for gradients because they tend to blend well with each other and make for a nice transition between colors without too much fuss.

Herringboned

20131003 china glaze autumn nights herringbone 3

Today I have a herringbone mani done with a few shades from the China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection. This Fall Collection consists of 12 really luxurious shades. I love so many of these on their own…but I also love how the entire collection works together (see original press release here). Which is why I was inspired to combine a few favorites into some nail art. The three polishes I chose can all pass for one-coaters, which makes them perfect for this technique.
