Grape Crush

7168109766 7d4f492057 o

Grapetini is a purple jelly polish with lavender glitter, light purple holo glitter, and tiny silver glitter/shimmer. 3 coats here, I really liked this one. It’s a smidge lighter in real life…

Berry

Royallacquerrazzberryberet2

Royal Lacquer Razz Berry Beret is a raspberry jelly loaded with multi-sized red holographic & metallic hexes and squares.  The formula was a bit on the thick side for a jelly.  I did have to use a bit of finesse with it for a smooth surface.  The is such a fun shade to wear! Shown is two coats of Razz Berry Beret.

Candy shoppe

Pretty And Polished Jawbreaker is perfectly named because it looks just like the candy it shares its name with! This milky white based polish is filled with blue, green, yellow, and purple glitters in all shapes and sizes. I used 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow as my base and then layered 2 coats of Pretty And Polished Jawbreaker over it, perrrrrrfection! Jawbreaker is opaque on its own after 2-3 coats, but since I only have a mini bottle I want to try to use as little of my precioussssssss as possible.

Brown Sugar

Contrary Polish Tiger s Eye 2

Contrary Polish Tiger’s Eye is a golden brown base with a strong golden shimmer. This is my favorite of the collection, it’s such a gorgeous brown and I don’t feel like I really have anything quite like it. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Black and purple vertical gradient 1 watermark

Gradients will always be my first nail art love. One of The Nailasarus‘s beautiful gradient manicures was the first nail art I really fell hard for and felt like I just had to try myself, and from that point on, I was hooked. As I’ve experimented with gradients more during the last year, I’ve found that I especially love them when they’re done with holographic polishes: something about all that sparkle transitioning from one color to the other just really works for me. Add in my favorite colors (purple and black) and my favorite polish brands (piCture pOlish and a england), and you’ve got a gradient I just can’t help but adore!

To get this look, I started with a base of piCture pOlish Hussy and then sponged on a gradient using Hussy and a england Bridal Veil with a makeup wedge. It was actually my husband’s idea to do the gradient vertically and alternate the color order on each nail, and I really love the effect. It’s almost like the gradient runs in both directions at once, which is pretty genius, I think. Thanks, honey!

Shades

Shades of Phoenix Were All Mad Here IMG 9710

Here’s a polish I knew I had to buy the moment I saw it – Shades of Phoenix’s We’re All Mad Here, inspired by the colours of the Cheshire Cat from the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland.

I’ve always loved Lewis Carroll – Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are such timeless books. I’ve been re-reading them since I was about 7. They never get old.

Renaissance Custom Lacquer Rosie Osie Swatch 5

Renaissance Cosmetics Rosie-Osie is a deep red jelly with intense red shimmer and tiny silver and gold glitter that looks incredible when suspended in the red base. It truly does have that lit-from-within look. Application was really smooth and even, and the consistency is just right – not too thin or thick. This was two coats. I did use a coat of Gelous followed by top coat, to give it more of a glassy look, but this is completely optional.

Wing Dust Waking Dream Swatch 2

Wing Dust Waking Dream is a dark purple jelly with pink, red and silver glitter, including hexes, circles, stars, and tiny hair glitter. It also has a very subtle shimmer, but it’s not very noticeable on the nails. I do love how dark and dreamy this one is – a classic Wing Dust! Application was good, but I recommend two coats of top coat (or Gelous) to smooth out the glitter. This was 3 coats.

L’Hiver

Holiday Decorations Nail Art 3

To get this look: I started with a base of L’Hiver from Renaissance Custom Lacquer, and then painted the black lines with black polish. I filled in the shapes with white polish to provide a good base for the colours I would add on top. The ornaments I filled in with Renaissance Custom Lacquer Mount Pleasant, Spadina, St. Clair and Runnymede. The tiny stars were painted with Essie Good as Gold. I dabbed on a bit of Renaissance Custom Lacquer Evenstar to give it some glitz.

Surprise dance party!

Hey guys! Today I have a some polishes to show you from Wing Dust Collections, a Canadian indie brand with beautiful unique polishes that will make your jaw drop! They are packed with glitter and amazing color combinations, and I love them. These polishes are from the Fall 2013 collection, which will be available on November 18th.

Did I not warn you about how beautiful these polishes are?! Muskoka Sunset is a bright purple crelly filled with bright pink, orange, periwinkle and lavender glitters that suspend perfectly in their base. This polish truly looks like a beautiful sunset, and it is so unique. Shown above is three coats, no fishing or dabbing required.

20111101 femme fatale fatal attraction2

This is two coats of Femme Fatale Fatal Attraction, a dark magenta pink loaded with scattered holo particles. It dries rough and matte, but topcoat (I used two coats) brings out an awesome shine. My indoor photo doesn’t do it justice. This is seriously a breathtaking polish. End of story.
