Hexagoon

Blue Lagoon is another sheer one, again 4 coats and still a lot of VNL. This blue jelly polish is filled with aqua glitter, light blue holo glitter, and tiny silver glitter/shimmer. I can’t wait to layer this one over a dark blue!

Mai Tai is GORGEOUS! Super sexy red jelly with red hex, holo and silver shimmer. 3 coats here, though a careful 2 coat would suffice.

Under the sea

SeaCreature2.jpeg

Sea Creature is a mix of dark emerald micro glitter and medium blue holo hex glitters with a sprinkling of small violet glitter. I’ve seen a few random pieces of medium silver holo hexes as well in there, but they’re kinda rare. This is all in a clear base, but it covers almost completely in two coats on its own, or in one coat over a base color (shown here over Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal).

20131218 glitter bunny little pink dress1

Glitter Bunny Little Pink Dress is unique. The base is a medium pink jelly containing golden orange flakies. It sounds crazy, but the effect is cool. My swatch is two coats. I used two coats of topcoat.

Spring green

Clover 4

Red Carpet Lacquer Clover is a yellow, green and orange multi-shaped glitter. Seems simple enough but what these photos do not show is the glow this polish produces. It’s like foil – it’s awesome! I could have gotten complete coverage with two (ish) coats but I wore one coat over China Glaze Starboard.

Periwinkle

GrapeBeyondWatermarked

KBShimmer The Grape Beyond is a dusty purple polish with a blue shimmer and a matte finish. I have been in love with this polish ever since its release, and I am so glad to finally have my hands on it! And I’m pleased to say that it exceeds expectations – this is two coats over KBShimmer Basic Training base coat, and it was insanely easy to apply. Honestly, I usually have a bit of trouble with matte polishes – they usually end up looking streaky, and I always end up putting on a glossy top coat and then a matte top coat over that to make them smooth. But this one was totally perfect, and required no smoothing over with top coat.

Grape Crush

Grapetini is a purple jelly polish with lavender glitter, light purple holo glitter, and tiny silver glitter/shimmer. 3 coats here, I really liked this one. It’s a smidge lighter in real life…

Berry

Royallacquerrazzberryberet2

Royal Lacquer Razz Berry Beret is a raspberry jelly loaded with multi-sized red holographic & metallic hexes and squares.  The formula was a bit on the thick side for a jelly.  I did have to use a bit of finesse with it for a smooth surface.  The is such a fun shade to wear! Shown is two coats of Razz Berry Beret.

Candy shoppe

Pretty And Polished Jawbreaker is perfectly named because it looks just like the candy it shares its name with! This milky white based polish is filled with blue, green, yellow, and purple glitters in all shapes and sizes. I used 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow as my base and then layered 2 coats of Pretty And Polished Jawbreaker over it, perrrrrrfection! Jawbreaker is opaque on its own after 2-3 coats, but since I only have a mini bottle I want to try to use as little of my precioussssssss as possible.

Brown Sugar

Contrary Polish Tiger s Eye 2

Contrary Polish Tiger’s Eye is a golden brown base with a strong golden shimmer. This is my favorite of the collection, it’s such a gorgeous brown and I don’t feel like I really have anything quite like it. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Adoration

Black and purple vertical gradient 1 watermark

Gradients will always be my first nail art love. One of The Nailasarus‘s beautiful gradient manicures was the first nail art I really fell hard for and felt like I just had to try myself, and from that point on, I was hooked. As I’ve experimented with gradients more during the last year, I’ve found that I especially love them when they’re done with holographic polishes: something about all that sparkle transitioning from one color to the other just really works for me. Add in my favorite colors (purple and black) and my favorite polish brands (piCture pOlish and a england), and you’ve got a gradient I just can’t help but adore!

To get this look, I started with a base of piCture pOlish Hussy and then sponged on a gradient using Hussy and a england Bridal Veil with a makeup wedge. It was actually my husband’s idea to do the gradient vertically and alternate the color order on each nail, and I really love the effect. It’s almost like the gradient runs in both directions at once, which is pretty genius, I think. Thanks, honey!
