Glass Fleck Water Marble

Glass Fleck Water Marble 2

I used Color Club Daisy Does It as my base and marbled with Color Club Daisy Does It, Color Club Wing Fling, Color Club Sparkle and Soar and Color Club Fly With Me. I’ll have swatches of the collection sometime in the next week or so, I gotta say…it’s pretty awesome!

China Glaze But Of Corpse is a super unique textured green polish with black microglitters. I almost didn’t know what to make of this polish when I first saw it, but I decided it’s awesome! It reminds me of Frankenstein’s monster. I should note that this polish did react slightly with my base coat, and it cracked on the first coat, but it smoothed out with the next coat. (Although it might have just been the particular brand of base coat I used, Rejuvacote, because I spoke to a couple other bloggers and they said they had no problems with base coat!) Shown above is three coats without top coat – it was opaque in two, but I added a third thin one to cover up any cracking issues.

To create this look, I started with a base of Cult Cosmetics DTLA, and then with hardly any polish on the brush, I dabbed on China Glaze Tongue & Chic, China Glaze Don’t Make Me Wine, and Essie Nothing Else Metals. I love these colors together, and I think it looked so cool in real life, but the photos didn’t show it so well – so I took some macro shots for you to get the real beauty of this technique!

Nailvengers assemble spray marble nail art

For my new technique, I’ve chosen a spray marble. The idea is to blob polish onto the surface of water (as with a water marble) but instead of drawing patterns in it, you spray it with hair spray. It was a bit of a risk because me and marbling do NOT get on. Not a bit. I thought this would be easier than a full water marble, and it was, but barely! Every time I sprayed the polish with hair spray it just flew off to the side or shrivelled. In the end I tried warm (almost hot) water, and it worked better. It’s still not exactly as I pictured, but I like the effect it created.
