Drip ice cream sugar spun nails 1b

I wanted something cute today because it’s sort of grey here in Miami. And it’s also a little chilly – so what’s more fun than some cute ice cream nails?! I really like this melted ice cream tutorial because it’s super adorbs and because it taught me an interesting way to do drips – drawing them with a dotting tool from a different direction than I typically do it!

I used a base color of OPI Don’t Burst My Bubble, which is gorgeous for French manicures. Then, I taped off sections and painted I Love Nail Polish Raspberry Beret, a deep pink linear holographic polish. Once that was dry, I painted on OPI Haven’t the Foggiest – I didn’t use tape for this color, because I was struggling with the lines. That is probably why my lines aren’t even!

Abstract

Backstory: I live in an apartment which used to belong to my brother, and a lot of his stuff is still around. I found a little painting in his (now my) room last night and I was intrigued – I gave him a call to ask about it, and he told me it was painted by his beautiful fiancée! So I knew I just had to use it as my inspiration for this day of the challenge. Here was my version of this artwork:

I used a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and then took acrylic paints that matched the painting and dabbed them onto my nail with a small brush.

Nostalgia swatch for blog0

I Love Nail Polish Nostalgia, 2 coats  An incredibly unique Ultra Chrome effect that gives this polish a festive green, gold, and red color shift. My swatches really do not do this justice, in fact I’m not extremely excited about these swatches because the polish is really just so much more amazing in person.

Pretty & Polished Queen of Hearts is a medium red jelly loaded with red iridescent flecks and red and gold shimmering particles.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I love this one!  The red is such a great bold color, and the iridescent sparkles are amazing.

Fireworks nail art 2

I started with a base of w7 Black, which is my favourite black creme, and added a glitter gradient to make it look like fireworks in the night sky. From thumb to pinkie the colours are Sparkler, Catherine Wheel, Rocket, Roman Candle and Banger

This design is featured in my new nail art for beginners video! Its fun to do because you don’t need any nail art tools!

Fendi-inspired

Fendi 4

Ombré hair just recently had it’s moment (I just can’t seem to part with my ombréd dark blue locks), but has ombréd nails? I think not. This Fendi-inspired Ladyfinger is definitely a challenge, but the end result is totally worth it.

Far far away

Elf gina girl

And here is Gina Girl, a black sheer jelly packed with lots of different size hex glitter. The main color of the glitter is purple. But I also spot gold, green and even pink. What a great combo! I layered one coat (slightly dabbed) of Gina Girl over a black base without additional top coat:
