Sunday dress, ruby ring

Rittenhouse 2

This polish does not photograph well but I think the next time I wear it I will thin it and layer it over another color. It’s not as oatmeal looking in reality and I like it but I don’t love it. The only reason I bought it was because it’s part of the Philadelphia collection. The other two from that collection are awesome!

Peacock-Inspired Marble

Peacockmarble1wm

For this marble, I used my new blog design as inspiration. First, I picked out three colours that match the peacock feathers (China Glaze Grape Pop, Zoya Robyn and China Glaze Custom Kicks) and then I did my marble. But when I was done, I thought it was missing something. So, I added some white dots to tie in the white from my blog as well, and I think that really completed the look.

Floral Glitter

Glitterfloral edited 1

Hey everyone! It’s been a couple of weeks since the last tutorial tuesday, and you’ve been missing it a tonne, I’m sure. This week’s tutorial is another one where you’ll have to head over to Divine Caroline to see the steps for this glitter floral design. If you would prefer to stick to the original colours of the dress in the article then go ahead, you definitely dont have to follow the same colour scheme I did.

If you love grey and glitter, this is THE polish for you! This is two coats of Elemental Styles E=mc^2 with one coat of top coat! Whitney’s creations are inspired by her love for Chemistry and polish! Application was spot on and NO digging for glitter, which I love! It reminds me of cookies n cream–if only polish was edible!!

Fresh spring

I don’t think I could pull off this look, but it is so sweet I couldn’t resist.

This style of nail art is called a “pond manicure!” It doesn’t so much reference an actual pond so much as it references the depth and the layers of the design. I followed a tutorial from Jacki at Adventures In Acetone, and she credits Olive View Fashion as the originator of this technique. It’s genius and gorgeous and best of all, EASY!

I started with a base of Two effortless coats of Sation’s Bump in Beige, which is my perfect mannequin hands “crelly”(jelly-creme). Then I applied Two easy coats of One and only Orange by Sation. This is a NEON Tangerine Orange. I’ve been craving neons lately so this color could not have come in at a better time. My camera was all “DO NOT WANT!” lool I’m sure you guys get the picture. This is BRIGHT! On my ring finger nail I did a gradient using Sammy’s tutorial using OAOO and Sation’s Fan the Flames Fuchsia. Don’t worry, I will have swatches of all these Sation colors soon. I topped my ring fingers off with a coat of INM Northern Lights. On the rest of my nails I did a topper of Windestine’s Asbestos which is a White micro glitter in a clear base.

Layla Jade Groove 2

Hi guys!! Today I have another ones of the awesome Layla hologram effect polishes to show you! Next to Flash Black this is my favorite, I really like the base color which is like a very light green. This one is also super holo, much like the others…but it seems like it’s SO holo that that’s all you see and I’m a fan of that haha!

my Lotus position

Can you tell I love cool shades?

Zoya Lotus is a smoked-out, deep violet sprinkled with magenta metallic flecks. It’s an edgier twsit on those smokey purples that were so popular a few years back (eg OPI Parlez Vous OPI?).

Flag it

 IMG 5638 copy

… today’s prompt is “inspired by a flag.” I am from the United States, but I have been seeing the United Kingdom’s Union Jack flag everywhere lately, so I decided to incorporate it into a skittle manicure using some OPI colors.

I decided to go with a funkier color scheme, instead of primary red, white and blue colors. The base color of the flag is OPI My Vampire is Buff, and I painted over it with OPI Casino Royale (which is also on my index finger) and OPI I Saw… U Saw… We Saw… Warsaw! The textured polish on my alternating fingers is OPI Get Your Number.
